THERAPY
Once an assessment has been completed, a report with recommendations is provided. If therapy is recommended, your child will be booked in for weekly sessions targeting the goals recommended. We strongly encourage family involvement for home practise.
We take a neurodiversity affirming approach to our therapy. What does this look like for our neurodivergent clients? Our therapists:
Prioritise connection, autonomy, and consent during therapy, working in partnership with clients and families.
Focus on meaningful, functional goals that enhance the individual’s quality of life rather than aiming for them to appear neurotypical.
Help clients build confidence, self-advocacy skills, and communication options in ways that feel safe and affirming.
Use strength-based, respectful language and focuses on supporting participation rather than correcting perceived deficits.
Understand and honour natural differences in communication development, such as gestalt language processing, rather than forcing neurotypical language patterns.
